Support our Nation's Heroes Throughout Recovery
Luke’s Wings had the honor of reuniting a family for both Thanksgiving and Christmas through our 2025 No Service Member Spends The Holidays Alone campaign—making it possible for their holiday season to be filled with togetherness, connection, and cherished time with loved ones.

“On behalf of myself and my family, I would like to express how truly grateful we are for Luke’s Wings and the impact it has had throughout our recovery journey. Our world changed in an instant this past May when my wife and I received a phone call regarding our son, who is an active duty Marine stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC, at that time. When the first words you hear are that ‘his head, spine, and internal organs are in good shape,’ you know it’s not going to be a good phone call. We learned that our son had already lost one leg, and they were uncertain if he would be able to keep his other. He had severe damage to all of his extremities, including the loss of two fingers on his dominant firing hand. I am thankful for so many things. First off, I’m thankful that my son is alive. I’m thankful for the great care that he received at ECU for three months and the care he’s currently receiving at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland, where he will most likely remain for the better part of next year. I’m thankful he has a mother who has never left his side since the accident and is able to serve as his caretaker at Walter Reed today. And I’m truly thankful for all of the organizations that have shown true compassion and given support to my family during this time.
When I contacted Luke’s Wings, I could tell right away that this was an organization that believed in what they were doing. There was no red tape. I called and left a message late one night. Not only did I get a phone call and voicemail back the very next day, I received a text just to make sure that I got the voicemail. That same level of care and attentiveness has manifested throughout every detail. And then, to top it all off, they thanked me for allowing them the opportunity to help my family.
This is so much more than flights and travel arrangements. This allowed my family to be together when we needed it the most. Thank you to Luke’s Wings and all of its supporters.
Sincerely, The Cameron Family”
