Support our Nation's Heroes Throughout Recovery
Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Virtual Heroes Walk to Fly! The world may look different right now, but one thing has not changed: our commitment to reuniting our heroes with their loved ones during recovery and rehabilitation.
During our two-week event, we had walkers in 23 states and raised over $30,000 to help reunite our wounded warrior families this holiday season.
This past Sunday, we kicked off our virtual event with a beautiful performance of the National Anthem, sung by Mary Catherine O’Neill, at the Lincoln Memorial. The rest of the day featured a full line up of virtual activities including a yoga class and a live musical performance! If you missed anything, be sure to check out our Facebook and Instagram for all the virtual features, including opening and closing remarks from our Senior Director of External Events, Lindsay Gill, a montage of past Luke’s Wings walks, photos of our amazing virtual walkers and a follow along of the Luke’s Wings team 1.9 mile walk around the National Mall!
Thank you to our participants and beneficiaries who walked in their communities and to our incredible entertainment, Aaron and Ashton Huie and Debbie Berkelhammer! We also want to send a special thank you to our presenting sponsor, Geico Military, as well as ManTech, Octo Consulting Group, JMA Solutions, IMC Water Coolers, JLAN Solutions and Coakley Williams for their help in pulling off this successful event and for supporting Luke’s Wings!
We hope to see you next year as we continue to walk so that others can FLY!
