Staff Sergeant Gina T. enlisted in the Army in July of 1991. Her passion for the military pushed her to became an ESL and English teacher for international soldiers around the world. Gina served her country for over 22 years, where her courage and determination guided her to follow her dreams.

In 2003, she was deployed to Afghanistan when an undiagnosed heart condition worsened. Despite multiple military doctors trying, they could never fully diagnose her condition; only providing her with different medicines and treatments resulting in high blood pressure and heart palpitations. Just last year, after years of doctor appointments and consultations, Gina was finally diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardio Myopathy. Over the holidays, Luke’s Wings flew Gina to her surgery at the Mayo Clinic and alleviated the financial burden of having her daughter and brother there to be with her during that difficult time.
