Captain Monique Washington joined the Army in 2015. She was deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, where she was injured during training sessions. These injuries caused her to have multiple surgeries for both her knees and her ankle. She also needed to have procedures for her back and other related outpatient procedures. She is currently recovering at the Fort Carson Soldier Recovery Unit in Colorado. Her main goal is to heal entirely and return to duty as a judge advocate. Luke’s Wings was honored to facilitate flights to see her husband, which she has not seen in over five months. Monique’s determination and commitment to recovery, along with the support of her husband, will speed up her recovery process.
