Luke’s Wings provides travel assistance to military service members, veterans, law enforcement officers, and their family members. We believe military family travel assistance is a key part of hospital recovery and rehabilitation.

Types of Travel Assistance

Luke’s Wings has four major program lines to serve the veteran community, active duty service members, and their family members. We have an additional program to help families of fallen law enforcement officers.

Services for Wounded Warriors

Our transportation assistance program, Wounded Warrior Transportation Assistance Program (W.W.T.A.P.), for wounded warriors provides flights for the family members and loved ones of military members injured in combat or training exercises while actively deployed.

Service members receive medical care for their injuries but might not receive care at a facility near their families. Luke’s Wings is committed to reuniting family members with the service member through transportation assistance.

Having family members and loved ones nearby while undergoing treatment in a military care facility can help service members throughout the recovery and rehabilitation.

Major Illnesses Services

Service members diagnosed with a chronic illness during their deployment need the support of their family and loved ones while they receive medical treatment. Luke’s Wings helps keep families together while the service member receives care through our Major Illnesses Transportation Assistance Program (M.I.T.A.P.).

We can provide flights to military service members and their loved ones to keep them together. Service members can access treatment no matter the location of the treatment facility. Family members can provide support and stability during the treatment process.

Services for Veterans in Hospice Care

Hospice care helps people, like veterans, to live as comfortably as possible at the end of their life. It provides emotional and spiritual support for the patient. Hospice care alleviates symptoms of a veteran’s illness but does not treat the disease to prolong life.

Luke’s Wings can provide travel assistance for military families who receive hospice care through our Veterans in Hospice Transportation Assistance Program (H.T.A.P.). We are honored to assist family members who need help traveling to say their final goodbyes.

Special Operations Services

Special Operators are special groups of our military service members. The special operations forces are made up of Navy Seals, Marine MARSOC, Army Green Berets, Air Force Special Operations, Army Rangers, and more.

Luke’s Wings provides transportation for the loved ones of our Special Operation Forces while they receive medical care, work through rehabilitation, or during other times of duress through the Special Operations Transportation Assistance Program (S.O.T.A.P.).

We are proud partners with the United States Special Operations Command Care Coalition (U.S.S.O.C.C.). We are proud to serve this amazing community of service members through their Warrior Care Program.

Services for Fallen Officers

In addition to providing services for veterans and active duty military service members, Luke’s Wings has services for the family members of fallen law enforcement officers through our Fallen Officer’s Transportation Assistance Program (F.O.T.A.P.). Services cover officers who are catastrophically injured in the line of duty.

Through Luke’s Wings, families of fallen officers receive emergency travel coordination and free airfare. We provide these services immediately following the death or catastrophic injury of the officer.
