Luke’s Wings Hosts 5th Annual “Fashion Takes Flight”
Charity Runway Show
February 11, 2013 (Washington, D.C.): Luke’s Wings will hold their fifth annual fashion fundraiser, Fashion Takes Flight, which will be presented by sponsors Project Hope Foundation, Charlotte Jarrett Events and Red Giraffe Media. The event will take place March 22nd, 2013 at The Mead Center for American Theater, home of Arena Stage along the southwest waterfront in Washington, DC.
The event will kick-off at 7:00 p.m. where VIP guests may enjoy a private cocktail reception with event hosts, models, honored guests, government leadership, and corporate sponsors. The event hosts three open bars and catered gourmet. Several Pop-Up Shops will be added to this years’ event, located in the Catwalk Café where guests can purchase items directly off the runway from local stares and new designers. The runway show will be held in the Molly Smith Study at 9:00 p.m., with collections from DC designers Crystal Jo Fashions and Nam Ngyuen to name a few. Fashion Takes Flight will showcase active duty members of all branches of the military walking the runway.
Guests will be able to purchase VIP ($135) and General Admission ($95) tickets, both of which include access to the premium bars, gourmet hor’s d’oeuvres, and the exclusive after party. VIP admission includes premium seating along the runway and a full SWAG bag of fashion goodies. Ten percent of the sales of the Pop-Up Shops will benefit Luke’s Wings. Luke’s Wings is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit dedicated to providing travel services for families of those wounded in the military that are hospitalized at medical and rehabilitation centers. By purchasing travel agency services and travel tickets for loved ones, Luke’s Wings provides an immediate and invaluable service to the families of our men and women at arms while also helping to encourage and motivate the service member’s recovery.
