Since 2014, walkers from all over the Washington, DC area have gathered in Bethesda, MD to walk for a cause at the Luke’s Wings Heroes Walk to Fly. As we continue to grow each and every year, we have had some highs and lows including celebrating a Luke’s Wings beneficiary’s engagement (definite high point!) and battling hurricane weather back to back years (not so great…). However, despite the weather, our supporters arrive in full-force; ready to raise critical funds for Luke’s Wings’ mission of providing complimentary airfare to wounded, ill and injured service members and their loved ones during recovery and rehabilitation.

As we gear up for our fourth year of hosting this inspirational and community-focused event, we are calling on our supporters from all over the country to help us have another milestone year! We understand our Luke’s Wings family spans the entire country and we want YOU to walk with us as a virtual walker.

What is a virtual walker, you ask? It is anyone who wants to join us in walking so others can fly but can’t be with us the day of the event… sound like you? If so, visit give.lukeswings.org/walktofly2018 to register for just $10! Then, on October 7th, while we are walking in our community, get out and walk in yours -wherever that is! The walk is only 1.5 miles but you will be walking for so many who cannot while helping fund flights to reunite wounded, ill and injured service members with their loved ones when they need it most. During your walk, snap a picture, upload it to social media and don’t forget to tag Luke’s Wings and use the hashtag #walktofly18 so that we can keep up with the fun all over the country!

We are walking for a cause – will you join us?
