Julia Furgurson joined Luke’s Wings in 2021 as Program Manager. Julia’s passion to serve the veteran community began in 2016 after interning with Comfort Zone Camp, where she assisted with their bereavement camp for children of Gold Star families. Since then, she has continued to search for meaningful ways to support military families.

After graduating in 2017 from James Madison University with a degree in Public Policy and Administration and a minor in Sociology, Julia began her pursuit for program management and nonprofit experience. She found her way to SemperK9, where she worked in Grant Writing & Management to help provide veteran’s with their own service dog. Most recently, Julia worked as Regional Programs Director for Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, an organization dedicated to supporting wounded, ill, or injured veterans or active-duty service members through various fly-fishing activities. Her time there provided her with the skills and knowledge necessary for this role. Julia is honored to be joining the Luke’s Wings team and aid in their mission to reunite heroes and their families!
