Amanda Gonsalves is the Program Coordinator at Luke’s Wings where she is responsible for booking critical travel for wounded, ill and injured service members. Born in Bangladesh, she and her family moved to Virginia in 2009 when she was just 10 years old. The call to serve her country had always been at the forefront of her mind and in 2017, she joined the United States Army Reserves serving as an Automated Logistics Specialist (92A). Besides the honor and sacrifice, the discipline and structure of the military is what stood out to her, something that she has adopted and integrated into her daily life.
Amanda graduated from Marymount University in May of 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and a minor in Political Science and Business Administration. Her dedication to working in the nonprofit industry flourished after donating a kidney in November of 2019. Amanda is deeply grateful and honored to be part of Luke’s Wings team and getting the opportunity to serve our nation once again by serving those brave men and women in uniform. May we never forget that freedom is not free.
